Black Beehive Carbon Fiber Wrap | Textured Vinyl

1.52*6m(5*20ft) / Beehive Carbon Black

The beehive honeycomb grid catches light differently at every angle, giving your panels a dimensional, almost industrial gloss that flat carbon and standard gloss films simply cannot match. Every cell in the pattern is uniform and crisp, so the texture reads as intentional detail rather than just a surface finish.

Underneath that bold look is a 90-micron polymeric PVC face film bonded to a Henkel solvent-based acrylic adhesive with built-in air-release channels. The PET plastic liner keeps the adhesive clean and the film flat until you are ready to install, and the film works with both dry and wet application methods.

Key features

  • Beehive honeycomb carbon texture: a uniform hexagonal grid in gloss black that adds depth and dimension to any panel
  • 90-micron polymeric PVC face film: 3.7 to 4.1 mil total face thickness for stable, conformable coverage over curves and rivets
  • Henkel solvent-based acrylic adhesive, 1.6 mil: engineered air-release channels let you reposition and smooth the film without trapped bubbles
  • 75-micron PET plastic liner: rigid enough to keep the roll flat in storage and peels cleanly at install without tearing or curling
  • Dry or wet installation: use whichever method suits your skill level and the complexity of the surface you are wrapping
  • Clean removal: the adhesive releases without stripping factory paint when the film is removed correctly

New to wrapping?

If this is your first carbon wrap, our guide on how to wrap a car walks through surface prep, squeegee technique, and edge tucking. Textured films like forged carbon reward careful prep.

Frequently asked questions

What does the beehive pattern actually look like in person?

In person the hexagonal cells are crisp and evenly spaced, with each cell wall catching light at a slightly different angle. The result is a grid-like shimmer that shifts as you move around the car. It reads as more geometric and graphic than twill carbon, and more structured than the random look of forged carbon.

Does the texture feel raised to the touch?

Yes. The honeycomb grid has a subtle but noticeable embossed feel. Running your hand across the surface you can trace each cell boundary. It is not as pronounced as a brushed or leather texture, but it is clearly tactile rather than a flat print.

Can I wrap a full car, or is this better suited to accent panels?

The film works for both. The beehive pattern is bold, so many installers use it on hoods, roofs, mirror caps, or pillars as accent work. A full wrap in beehive carbon black is equally achievable and makes a strong visual statement, particularly on sports cars and trucks. The conformable PVC face handles curves and bumpers without the pattern distorting noticeably.

What installation method works best for a textured carbon film?

Both dry and wet install are supported. For beginners, a light wet install gives you more working time to align the pattern before the adhesive grabs. Experienced wrappers often prefer dry install because the air-release adhesive channels do most of the bubble-management work. Either way, work in sections, keep heat gentle, and avoid overstretching the film in areas with tight compound curves so the honeycomb cells stay uniform.

Will the film remove cleanly from factory paint?

Yes, when removed at the correct angle and temperature. Warming the film with a heat gun softens the Henkel acrylic adhesive so it releases cleanly. As with any wrap film, the condition of the underlying paint and how long the film has been on the vehicle affect residue. Properly prepped, painted surfaces in good condition clean up without damage.

How does the beehive pattern compare to the other carbon textures in the Wrapteck line?

Wrapteck offers three carbon texture directions. The beehive honeycomb is the most geometric, built around a repeating hexagonal grid that gives a modern, almost industrial look. The classic twill weave follows the diagonal over-under pattern of real woven carbon fiber and reads as the most traditional carbon aesthetic. The forged carbon has an irregular, layered look inspired by the chopped fiber sheets used in high-performance parts. Beehive sits between the two in terms of boldness, more structured than forged but less conventional than twill.

How do I clean and maintain the finish?

Hand wash with a pH-neutral car shampoo and a soft microfiber mitt. Rinse from the top down and dry with a clean microfiber towel to avoid water spots in the honeycomb cells. Avoid abrasive compounds, stiff brushes, and high-pressure jets aimed directly at panel edges, as these can lift the film over time. A light spray detailer between washes keeps the gloss looking sharp.

What size rolls are available, and how much film do I need?

Wrapteck stocks this film in standard roll widths suited for panel sections and full-car projects. A full car typically requires 50 to 60 linear feet at 60-inch width depending on vehicle size. If you are doing accent panels only, a shorter cut will cover most projects. Check the product listing for current roll and cut-to-length options, or message us if you need help calculating coverage for your specific vehicle.
