Metallic Gloss Black PPF | Self-Healing TPU Color Film
$260.00 USD
1.52*3m(5*9.8ft) / Black

Metallic Gloss Black gives your car a deep, wet-look shine with fine metallic flake that wakes up the second light hits it. From across the lot it reads as a rich liquid black. Up close you see the sparkle move along every curve and crease. It is the classic blacked-out look without the flat, dead finish that plain matte films leave behind.

This is real paint protection film, not vinyl. So the same layer that gives you that glossy metallic black also takes the hits meant for your paint. Rock chips, road grit, light scratches, swirl marks from washing. The film absorbs them while your factory paint stays sealed and untouched underneath.

Key features

  • Self-healing topcoat: minor scratches and swirl marks fade out with heat from the sun or a heat gun.
  • Hydrophobic surface: water and dirt bead off instead of sticking, so the film stays cleaner for longer.
  • Acid rain and oxidation resistant: holds up against acid rain, oxidation and yellowing over years of daily driving.
  • Stain and penetration resistant: bird droppings, tree sap and grease do not soak into the film.
  • Flexible and tear resistant: high elongation and tensile strength let it stretch over curves without cracking.
  • Mirror-gloss finish: the glass-crystal top layer boosts paint depth and gloss by up to 40 percent and smooths out orange peel.
  • Removable adhesive: peels off cleanly with heat, with no glue residue left behind.
  • Bubble-free install: designed to lay flat without bubbling, warping or lifting at the edges.

Frequently asked questions

How long does Metallic Gloss Black PPF last?

You can expect 7 to 10 years of real-world life, backed by an 8-year warranty. The metallic flake and gloss are sealed inside the film and protected by a cashew nut oil topcoat, so the deep black holds its shine year after year instead of dulling like a cheap wrap.

What is the difference between this and a black vinyl wrap?

A black vinyl wrap only sits on top and decorates the surface. It offers little real protection. Metallic Gloss Black is paint protection film, a 7.5mil (330um) TPU layer that colors your car and shields the paint at the same time. Rock chips and scratches hit the film, not your clear coat.

Does the Metallic Gloss Black film self-heal?

Yes. The topcoat is self-healing. Light swirls, wash marks, and fine scratches vanish with heat from the sun or warm water. This matters most on a glossy black finish, since black shows every tiny scratch. The film keeps that mirror-clean black looking fresh.

Will the black color fade in the sun?

No. The film blocks 95 to 98 percent of UV, which is the main cause of fading and chalking on black finishes. The metallic black pigment sits in a protected middle layer, sealed top and bottom, so it stays deep and rich for years of daily sun.

Does it remove cleanly when I want a change?

Yes. When you are ready for a new look, the film peels away cleanly and leaves your factory paint exactly as it was. Because it has been shielding the paint the whole time, the surface underneath often looks better than cars that were left bare.

How much film do I need for my car?

The roll is 1.52m wide and comes in 3m, 6m, 9m, and 15m lengths. A small coupe usually fits in 15m, while a full sedan or SUV needs more. Single panels like a hood or roof can use a 3m or 6m roll. Measure your panels and add a little extra for trimming.

Can I install Metallic Gloss Black PPF myself?

Yes, with patience. This is a wet install, so you spray slip solution and squeegee the film into place, which gives you time to slide and reposition before it sets. Black gloss shows fingerprints and dust, so work clean. Flat panels like hoods and roofs are the best place to start before tackling bumpers.

Will the metallic flake show on curved panels?

Yes. The fine flake catches light from every angle, so it actually looks best on shaped panels like fenders and door curves where the light shifts as you walk around the car. The self-healing TPU stretches over those curves while keeping the flake even and consistent.
