Gloss Heavy Metal Vehicle Wraps - wrapteck
$170.00 USD
1.52*6m(5*20ft) / Flame Green

Heavy Metal is a satin metallic wrap built around a layer of fine metal flake. In shade it reads as a calm, low-sheen color with a quiet grain running through it. Roll into sunlight and the flake wakes up, scattering a soft shimmer across every panel without the mirror glare of a gloss finish. It is the look of a deep flake respray, with the muted attitude that satin gives a body line.

Under that color sits a tough polymeric vinyl that hugs your factory paint and takes the daily hits instead of your clear coat. Road grit, light scuffs, sun, and wash swirls land on the film, not the paint. When you want a change or want the original color back, it peels away and leaves the paint it has been protecting underneath.

Key features

  • Heavy metal flake: a dense metal flake gives this satin finish a faint, upscale shimmer without the high gloss, for a deep textured look.
  • Low-sheen satin surface: the muted finish reads premium and understated, somewhere between matte and gloss.
  • Air-release adhesive: built-in air channels push bubbles out, so the film lays flat and you can reposition as you work.
  • Conforms to curves: the polymeric PVC stretches over mirrors, bumpers and body lines for a smooth, seamless wrap.
  • Protects the paint underneath: the wrap takes the daily wear while your factory paint stays sealed and original.
  • Removable: peels off cleanly later with heat, so you can change the look or go back to stock.

Frequently asked questions

What does the metal flake actually do in Heavy Metal?

The flake is fine metal pigment mixed into the color layer, so the surface catches and scatters light. In shade Heavy Metal stays a soft, low-sheen color. In direct sun the flake lights up and gives a gentle sparkle and depth that flat colors cannot match. It is the satin version of that effect, so you get shimmer without a glossy mirror shine.

Is the surface smooth or does it have texture?

It is smooth to the touch. The flake lives inside the color layer under a satin top surface, so you see the shimmer but your fingers feel a flat, even film. The satin finish just softens the reflection, it does not add grain or roughness you can feel.

Will wrapping hurt my paint or actually protect it?

On healthy factory paint a wrap protects it. Heavy Metal sits on top of your clear coat and takes the daily wear, so light scuffs, road grit, sun, and wash swirls hit the film instead of the paint. The factory finish stays sealed underneath. Wraps are not recommended over paint that is already peeling, cracking, or full of fresh body filler, since the film can only hold to a sound surface.

How is this different from a metallic respray?

A real metallic flake respray is one of the most expensive paint jobs you can buy, it takes your car off the road for days, and if you ever scratch it the repair is hard to color match. Heavy Metal gives you that flake look for far less, goes on in a fraction of the time, and protects the paint already on the car. Best of all it is reversible, so you are not locked into the color forever.

How do I wash and care for a satin metallic wrap?

Hand wash only with a gentle car shampoo, a soft mitt, and clean water, then pat or blow dry to avoid spotting. Rinse off bird droppings, bugs, and road salt quickly since they are harder on any finish. Keep strong solvents and harsh degreasers off the film. A garage-kept wrap will hold its look for years longer than one parked in full sun and weather all day.

Can I never wax or polish it?

Correct, and this matters with satin. Never wax, polish, or machine-buff Heavy Metal. Those products and a buffing pad burn shiny spots into the satin surface and you cannot undo it. The low sheen is part of the look, so all it needs is a careful hand wash. Skip the wax and skip the polisher.

Can I install Heavy Metal myself?

Yes. The film uses an air-release adhesive with channels built into the glue, so trapped air pushes out as you squeegee and you avoid most bubbles. You can install dry or wet. Flat panels like a hood, roof, or trunk are very doable for a careful first timer. Deep curves and mirrors take more patience, so take your time and use gentle heat to shape the film.

Does it remove cleanly later, and how much do I need?

When you are ready for a change, warm the film with a heat source and peel it back at a low angle and it comes off the paint it has been guarding. For coverage, a full small car usually runs around 50 to 55 feet, a sedan around 60 to 65 feet, and a large SUV or truck more. Heavy Metal comes in 30ft and 59ft roll lengths, so measure your panels and add a little extra for mistakes and curves.
