Black Matte Car Wrap | Polymeric Vinyl
$150.00 USD
1.52*6m(5*20ft) / Matte Black

Black matte trades the wet shine of gloss for a deep flat black that swallows light and reads pure stealth. No glare, no reflection, just a calm even surface that makes every panel and body line look intentional. It is the look people picture when they say murdered-out, and it works on anything from a daily commuter to a weekend build.

This is a polymeric PVC color wrap, not paint. It lays a tough flat black skin over your factory finish, so the paint underneath stays protected from light scuffs, sun and daily wear while you drive around in a finish that costs a fraction of a flat black respray. When you want to sell or go back to stock, it comes off.

Key features

  • Flat matte finish: a non-reflective topcoat gives the factory-flat, no-shine look that paint cannot match without a costly custom job.
  • Hides minor flaws: the matte surface softens light, so it disguises small swirls and imperfections instead of spotlighting them like gloss does.
  • Air-release adhesive: built-in air channels push bubbles out, so the film lays flat and you can reposition as you work.
  • Conforms to curves: the polymeric PVC stretches over mirrors, bumpers and body lines for a smooth, seamless wrap.
  • Protects the paint underneath: the wrap takes the daily wear while your factory paint stays sealed and original.
  • Removable: peels off cleanly later with heat, so you can change the look or go back to stock.
  • UV and weather resistant: the topcoat holds up to sun and rain across a -30 to +140 degree range.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a Black matte wrap last?

With good care a Black matte wrap holds its flat stealth look for years. Heat, sun and harsh washing are what wear any wrap down fastest, so a car kept in a garage will keep that even matte finish longer than one parked outside in full sun every day. We do not quote a fixed number of years because real life depends on how you treat it, but treat it well and it stays looking sharp for a long time.

Will wrapping my car in Black matte damage the paint?

No, it does the opposite. The vinyl sits on top of your factory paint and shields it from light scuffs, sun fade and daily grime. Healthy original paint stays protected underneath the whole time the wrap is on. When you peel the wrap off later the paint is still there, often in better shape than panels that were left exposed.

How is Black matte vinyl different from a flat black paint job?

A flat black respray is one of the most expensive and least forgiving paint finishes out there. Matte paint shows every repair and is very hard to blend if you scratch it. This wrap gives you the same deep flat black for far less, it goes on in days instead of weeks, it protects the factory paint instead of replacing it, and you can remove it when you want to change color or sell the car. A respray is permanent. This is not.

How do I wash and care for a Black matte wrap?

This is the most important thing to get right. Never wax, polish or machine-buff a matte wrap. Those products and a buffer create shiny patches that ruin the flat black look and you cannot undo it. Hand wash only with a soap made for matte finishes, skip automatic brush car washes, and rinse and dry by hand. If you get fuel, bird mess or bug splatter on it, clean that spot quickly before it sits and stains the matte surface.

Can I install Black matte vinyl myself?

Yes, plenty of DIY installers do. The film uses a Henkel solvent-based acrylic air-release adhesive, so tiny channels in the glue let trapped air escape and help you avoid bubbles as you lay it down. You can install it dry or wet. Flat panels like doors and the roof are very doable at home. Take your time on bumpers and deep curves, use a heat gun to ease the film into shape, and work clean.

Does Black matte come off cleanly later?

Yes. When you are ready for a change, warm the vinyl gently and peel it back at a low angle and it lifts away. Because it has been shielding your factory paint the whole time, the surface underneath is usually clean and ready to go. Any light adhesive left behind wipes off with a proper adhesive remover.

Will the finish stay flat or start to look shiny?

It stays flat as long as you care for it the matte way. The thing that turns a matte wrap shiny is wax, polish or buffing, so simply never use those on it. Hand washing with a matte-safe soap keeps the surface even and stealthy. Skip the buffer and the flat black look holds.

How much film do I need for my car?

Our Black matte rolls are 1.52m (5ft) wide and come in 6m, 18m and 23m lengths. As a rough guide a small car needs around 15m, a midsize sedan around 18m, and a large SUV or truck closer to 23m. Order a bit extra so you have room for mistakes, curves and a second attempt on tricky panels. If you are wrapping only the roof, hood or mirrors, a 6m roll usually covers it.
