Graphite Black Heavy Metal Car Wrap | Satin Metallic Vinyl

Graphite Black Heavy Metal is a deep charcoal black with a low-sheen satin face packed with fine metal flake. In the shade it reads as a moody, almost soft black with a hint of grain. Roll it into direct sun and the flake wakes up, throwing a faint metallic shimmer across every curve without ever turning glossy. It is the look of a custom satin metallic respray, in a film you can apply at home.
This is a color-change wrap, so it does two jobs at once. It gives your car a fresh satin metallic skin and it lays a protective layer over the factory paint, taking the daily hits from road grime, light scuffs and UV instead of your clearcoat. When you are ready for a change, it comes back off and the original paint is still there underneath.

Key features
- Heavy metal flake: a dense metal flake gives this satin finish a faint, upscale shimmer without the high gloss, for a deep textured look.
- Low-sheen satin surface: the muted finish reads premium and understated, somewhere between matte and gloss.
- Air-release adhesive: built-in air channels push bubbles out, so the film lays flat and you can reposition as you work.
- Conforms to curves: the polymeric PVC stretches over mirrors, bumpers and body lines for a smooth, seamless wrap.
- Protects the paint underneath: the wrap takes the daily wear while your factory paint stays sealed and original.
- Removable: peels off cleanly later with heat, so you can change the look or go back to stock.

Frequently asked questions
What does the metal flake actually do in Graphite Black Heavy Metal?
The fine flake sits inside the color layer and catches light. In shade the wrap looks like a deep, even charcoal black. In direct sun the flake sparks up and gives the panel a soft metallic shimmer with a hint of depth. It is the shift between flat and shimmer that makes a metallic finish look so different from a plain black.
Is the surface smooth or does it have texture?
It is smooth to the touch. The flake is suspended inside the film, not sitting on top, so you feel a clean satin surface and not grit. The shimmer is something you see in the light, not something you feel with your hand.
Will this wrap damage my paint or actually protect it?
On healthy factory paint it protects. The film shields your clearcoat from road grime, light scratches and UV, and it lifts off cleanly when you want it gone. The one thing to avoid is wrapping over paint that is already flaking, cracking or poorly repaired, since the adhesive can pull at paint that is not bonded well to begin with.
How is this different from a custom metallic respray?
A real metallic-flake respray looks great but it is expensive, ties your car up for a long time, and is hard to color match if a panel ever needs repair. Graphite Black Heavy Metal gives you that satin metallic look for far less, goes on in a fraction of the time, is reversible, and keeps your original paint intact underneath. If you change your mind, you peel it instead of repainting.
How do I wash and care for a satin metallic wrap?
Hand wash only with a soft mitt and a pH-neutral car shampoo, then rinse and pat dry with a clean microfiber towel. Never wax, polish or machine-buff a satin wrap. Those create shiny spots that ruin the even low-sheen look and cannot be undone. Skip automatic brush car washes too. Keeping it garage-kept and out of constant sun helps it look fresh for longer.
Can I install this myself?
Yes. The Henkel solvent-based acrylic adhesive is air-release, so the channels let trapped air escape and you can reposition the film before you lock it down. That makes it forgiving for a careful DIY install. You can run it dry or wet, and it conforms well over curves with steady heat from a heat gun. Take your time on mirrors and bumpers and it goes on cleanly.
Does it come off cleanly later?
With reasonable heat the film lifts off in strips and leaves your factory paint behind. Removal is easiest when the wrap has been cared for and not baked in the sun for years on end. Any light adhesive residue wipes away with a proper adhesive remover.
How much film do I need for my car?
It depends on the size and shape of your vehicle. As a rough guide a small car needs around 50 to 55 ft, a sedan around 60 to 65 ft, and a large SUV or truck more. Rolls come in 30ft (9m) and 59ft (18m) lengths, so most full wraps combine rolls or use the longer option. When in doubt, size up a little so you have room for mistakes and complex panels.
