Black in matte, satin or gloss
Matte: flat, no reflections, hides small dents. Needs matte safe care, no wax. See the matte collection.
Satin: a soft sheen that hides dirt better than gloss and fingerprints better than matte. See the satin collection.
Gloss: the paint look. Easiest to wash and polish, but swirls show. See the gloss collection.
Still torn? Matte vs satin vs gloss compares all three side by side.

- Wipe fingerprints off matte black early, around handles and the fuel cap.
Black car wrap FAQ
Matte black or satin black?
Matte black is flat and stealthy and hides panel flaws best, but shows fingerprints. Satin black keeps a soft sheen and is easier to keep clean. Our matte black wrap guide helps you decide.
Does gloss black show swirl marks?
Yes. Any gloss face shows swirls and water spots, and black makes them easier to see. The upside is that gloss can be polished and waxed like paint, so light swirls come out.
How much black vinyl do I need for a sedan?
One 23 m (75 ft) roll. For Black Matte that is $560, and for Black Super Gloss it is $590. A small car takes the 18 m roll.
Will a black wrap come off cleanly?
Yes. Our vinyl peels off clean with no residue, so you can go back to the original color later.
Can I compare blacks before ordering?
Yes. The $45 sample swatch book holds real film samples, so you can see matte, satin and gloss black next to your paint.
