Combat Grey Metallic Car Wrap | Gloss Vinyl

Combat Grey is a deep, tactical grey with fine metal flake worked into the color layer. In the shade it reads as a moody, near matte looking gunmetal that gives the body a serious, blacked out stance. Roll it into the sun and the flake wakes up, throwing a fine silver sparkle across every panel and pulling out the curves of the hood, doors and fenders. It is the kind of grey that looks expensive in any light.
This is a gloss metallic color change wrap, not a coating you spray on. The vinyl lays over your existing paint and stays put through daily driving, sun and weather. While it gives the car a fresh military grey look, it also takes the road grime, light scuffs and wash swirls that would otherwise land on your factory finish. When you want a change, it comes back off and the paint underneath is still the paint you started with.

Key features
- Deep metallic sparkle: fine metal flake runs through the color layer, so the finish reads rich in the shade and glints with sparkle in direct sun.
- Glossy depth: a clear topcoat over the flake gives a wet, glossy shine with real depth, the same look factory metallic paint gets from flake in the basecoat.
- Air-release adhesive: built-in air channels push bubbles out, so the film lays flat and you can reposition as you work.
- Conforms to curves: the polymeric PVC stretches over mirrors, bumpers and body lines for a smooth, seamless wrap.
- Protects the paint underneath: the wrap takes the daily wear while your factory paint stays sealed and original.
- Removable: peels off cleanly later with heat, so you can change the look or go back to stock.

Frequently asked questions
What does the metal flake actually do on Combat Grey?
The flake is mixed into the color layer, so it catches light from different angles as you walk around the car. In low light Combat Grey looks like a deep, solid gunmetal. Step into direct sun and that fine silver sparkle comes alive across the panels and gives the grey real depth instead of a flat, painted look.
Does the surface feel rough or textured?
No. Even though the flake sits inside the film, the top of this gloss wrap is smooth to the touch. The sparkle is something you see, not something you feel. You get the glassy hand of a gloss finish with the shimmer of metal underneath.
Will wrapping my car damage the paint?
Used the right way it does the opposite. Combat Grey lays over healthy factory paint and acts as a shield against daily grit, light scuffs and wash swirls. When you remove it later the original paint is protected underneath. Just make sure the paint is in sound condition and well bonded before you wrap, since wrap is not glue for failing or flaking paint.
How is this different from getting a metallic grey respray?
A real metallic flake respray is one of the most expensive paint jobs you can buy, it takes your car off the road for a long time, and it is hard to repair or undo. Combat Grey gives you that same metallic grey presence for a fraction of the cost, goes on far faster, protects the paint you already paid for, and peels off cleanly when you want to switch.
How do I wash and care for a Combat Grey wrap?
Hand washing is best. Use a gentle car shampoo, a soft mitt and clean water, then dry with a microfiber towel so you do not leave spots on the flake. Skip harsh solvents and stiff brushes. Keeping the car garaged out of constant sun and weather helps the gloss and the flake hold their look for years.
Can I install Combat Grey myself?
Yes, plenty of DIY installers do. The film uses a Henkel solvent based acrylic air-release adhesive, so trapped air pushes out through tiny channels instead of leaving bubbles, which gives you time to lay and reposition panels. It works as a dry or wet install. Flat and gently curved areas are very doable at home. Deep curves and recesses just take patience, heat and a steady squeegee.
Does Combat Grey come off cleanly later?
When it has been applied over solid factory paint, this wrap is made to be removable. With gentle heat it lifts away and the paint it was protecting stays as it was. That clean reversibility is a big reason wrap beats a permanent respray when you like to change your look.
How much film do I need for my vehicle?
It depends on the size of your car or truck. The film comes in 30ft (9m) and 59ft (18m) roll lengths. A small coupe or sedan usually fits the 30ft roll, while a larger SUV, van or truck is better matched to the 59ft length. When in doubt go up a size, since extra film gives you room for mistakes and for wrapping mirrors, door jambs and trim.
