Lake Blue is a calm, water-deep blue with fine metal flake mixed right into the color layer. In the shade it reads as a smooth, rich gloss blue. Roll into direct sun and the flake wakes up, throwing tiny points of light across every panel so the car looks like it is wearing wet, sparkling water. It is a glossy finish, so the surface stays slick and mirror-clean while the metallic grain adds depth you do not get from a flat paint color.
This is a color-change wrap, not a respray. It lays over your factory paint and changes the whole look of the car, while also taking the daily hits of road grime, light scuffs, and sun so the paint underneath stays protected. When you are ready for a different look, it comes off and your original finish is still there.

Key features
- Deep metallic sparkle: fine metal flake runs through the color layer, so the finish reads rich in the shade and glints with sparkle in direct sun.
- Glossy depth: a clear topcoat over the flake gives a wet, glossy shine with real depth, the same look factory metallic paint gets from flake in the basecoat.
- Air-release adhesive: built-in air channels push bubbles out, so the film lays flat and you can reposition as you work.
- Conforms to curves: the polymeric PVC stretches over mirrors, bumpers and body lines for a smooth, seamless wrap.
- Protects the paint underneath: the wrap takes the daily wear while your factory paint stays sealed and original.
- Removable: peels off cleanly later with heat, so you can change the look or go back to stock.

Frequently asked questions
What does the metallic flake actually do on Lake Blue?
The flake is tiny metal particles mixed into the color layer. They catch light and bounce it back, so the blue looks deeper and more alive than a plain solid color. In low light you see a clean gloss blue. In sun you see thousands of small sparkles moving as the car moves.
Does Lake Blue look different in sun versus shade?
Yes, and that is the point. In shade or cloud it settles into a deep, even gloss blue. Under direct sun the metal flake lights up and gives the finish a bright, watery shimmer. Most people are surprised how much the same panel changes through the day.
Is the surface textured or smooth?
It is smooth. The flake is inside the color layer, not on top, so the gloss face stays slick to the touch. You feel a flat, glassy surface, you only see the metallic effect with your eyes.
Will a wrap damage my paint or protect it?
A proper wrap protects it. The film sits over your factory paint and takes the daily wear from grit, light scratches, and sun instead of the paint. On healthy factory paint it removes cleanly later and leaves the original finish underneath.
Lake Blue metallic wrap or a metallic respray, which makes sense?
A real metallic-flake respray is costly, takes your car off the road for a while, and is hard to match if you ever need a repair. This wrap gives you the same deep metallic Lake Blue look for far less, goes on faster, protects the paint you already paid for, and peels off when you want a change.
How do I wash and care for it?
Hand wash with car shampoo and a soft mitt, rinse well, and dry with a clean microfiber towel. Skip harsh solvents and stiff brushes. Knock bird droppings and bug splatter off quickly so they do not sit on the gloss. Kept out of constant sun and washed with care, a Lake Blue wrap holds its shine for years, and a garage-kept car holds it even longer.
Can I install Lake Blue myself?
Many DIY installers do. The Henkel solvent-based acrylic air-release adhesive lets trapped air escape so you can reposition and squeegee out bubbles instead of fighting them. It rewards patience and heat on the curves. Flat panels like a roof or hood are a friendly first project.
How much film do I need for my car?
It comes in 30ft (9m) and 59ft (18m) roll lengths. A small car or single panels can work from the 30ft roll, while a full wrap on a sedan or SUV usually needs the 59ft length plus extra for mistakes and complex areas. When in doubt, size up so your flake direction stays consistent across panels.
