Spar Blue Black Metallic Car Wrap | Gloss Vinyl

Spar Blue Black sits right on the line between deep blue and pure black. In the shade it reads almost black with a quiet blue undertone. Pull the car into sunlight and the fine metal flake wakes up, scattering cool blue sparkle across every panel and giving the color real depth as you walk around it. It is a moody, expensive-looking finish that changes with the light instead of staying flat.
This is a gloss metallic color-change wrap, so it does two jobs at once. It transforms the look of your car with a finish you cannot get from a spray can, and the film sits over your factory paint as a shield against daily wear like light scuffs, road grime, and sun exposure. When you want your original color back, the wrap comes off and the paint underneath is the same as the day you started.

Key features
- Deep metallic sparkle: fine metal flake runs through the color layer, so the finish reads rich in the shade and glints with sparkle in direct sun.
- Glossy depth: a clear topcoat over the flake gives a wet, glossy shine with real depth, the same look factory metallic paint gets from flake in the basecoat.
- Air-release adhesive: built-in air channels push bubbles out, so the film lays flat and you can reposition as you work.
- Conforms to curves: the polymeric PVC stretches over mirrors, bumpers and body lines for a smooth, seamless wrap.
- Protects the paint underneath: the wrap takes the daily wear while your factory paint stays sealed and original.
- Removable: peels off cleanly later with heat, so you can change the look or go back to stock.

Frequently asked questions
What does the metallic flake actually do on Spar Blue Black?
The flake is mixed into the color layer, so light bounces off thousands of tiny metal particles instead of a flat coat. That is what gives Spar Blue Black its sparkle and depth. In bright sun the blue really pops and you see the grain shift as you move. In shade it settles into a near-black tone with a subtle blue cast.
Does the wrap feel textured or is it smooth?
It is smooth to the touch. The flake lives inside the color layer, not on the surface, and a clear gloss top protects it. So you get the shimmer of metal flake with a slick glossy face that wipes clean and feels like a painted panel, not a grainy one.
Will wrapping my car damage the paint underneath?
No. On healthy factory paint the wrap protects the surface from daily wear while it is on, then peels away without taking your paint with it. It actually keeps your original finish cleaner over time. The one thing to watch is loose or already-failing paint, since any film can lift weak paint when removed.
How is this different from a metallic respray?
A real metallic-flake respray is one of the priciest paint jobs you can buy, it takes your car off the road for days, and it is hard to touch up if a panel gets damaged. Spar Blue Black gives you a true metallic look for far less, goes on much faster, protects your original paint instead of replacing it, and comes back off when you want a change.
How do I wash and care for it?
Hand wash with a mild car shampoo and a soft mitt, rinse well, and dry with a clean microfiber. Skip harsh solvents and aggressive brushes. Knock bug splatter and bird mess off quickly so it does not sit on the gloss. Cared for this way the wrap holds its shine for years, and a garage-kept car will look fresh even longer.
Can I install it myself?
Yes, this is a DIY-friendly film. The Henkel solvent-based acrylic adhesive has air-release channels, so trapped bubbles push out to the edge instead of leaving lumps, and it lets you reposition while you work. You can run a dry install or a wet install. A squeegee, a heat gun, and patience on the curves go a long way.
Does it remove cleanly later?
Yes. When you are ready for a new look, warm the film with gentle heat and peel it back slowly at a low angle. On sound paint it lifts away clean, with little to no adhesive left behind. Anything that does stay comes off with a proper adhesive remover.
How much film do I need for my car?
A full wrap on a compact car or sedan usually lands around 50 to 60 feet, mid-size SUVs need more, and large trucks more still. Always add extra for mistakes, recuts, and complex curves. We offer 30ft (9m) and 59ft (18m) roll lengths so you can match the size of your project.
