Black Gold Metallic Car Wrap | Gloss Vinyl

Black Gold sits somewhere between a deep luxury black and a warm gold shimmer, and that is exactly what makes it special. In the shade it reads as a rich glossy black with a quiet golden glow buried in the finish. Roll it into direct sun and the fine metal flake wakes up, throwing warm gold sparkle across every panel as the light moves with you. It is the kind of color that looks expensive standing still and alive on the road.
This is a color-change wrap, so it does more than restyle the car. The gloss face film lays over your factory paint and takes the daily hits of dust, light scuffs, road grime, and UV instead of the paint underneath. When you are ready for a new look, it comes off and your original finish is still there. You get a head-turning metallic without touching the paint you already paid for.

Key features
- Deep metallic sparkle: fine metal flake runs through the color layer, so the finish reads rich in the shade and glints with sparkle in direct sun.
- Glossy depth: a clear topcoat over the flake gives a wet, glossy shine with real depth, the same look factory metallic paint gets from flake in the basecoat.
- Air-release adhesive: built-in air channels push bubbles out, so the film lays flat and you can reposition as you work.
- Conforms to curves: the polymeric PVC stretches over mirrors, bumpers and body lines for a smooth, seamless wrap.
- Protects the paint underneath: the wrap takes the daily wear while your factory paint stays sealed and original.
- Removable: peels off cleanly later with heat, so you can change the look or go back to stock.

Frequently asked questions
What does the metallic flake actually do in Black Gold?
The gold flake is mixed right into the color layer, so the wrap is not a flat black. In shade you mostly see the deep glossy black base. In sunlight the fine flake catches the light and gives off a warm gold sparkle that shifts as you walk around the car. It is the same effect a metallic respray gives, built into the film.
Is the surface textured or smooth?
It is smooth to the touch. The gold flake lives inside the color layer, not on top, so the gloss face stays flat and slick like factory paint. The sparkle is something you see, not something you feel.
How does Black Gold look in sun versus shade?
In overcast light or under cover it leans toward a clean, dark glossy black with a faint warm undertone. Under direct sun the metal flake lights up and the gold really shows, giving the panels depth and movement. Most people are surprised how different it reads between the two.
Will this wrap damage my paint or protect it?
It protects it. The film covers your factory paint and takes the daily wear, dust, light scratches, and UV instead of the paint. On healthy factory paint it removes cleanly when you are done. It is a cosmetic color wrap that shields what is underneath, not a protective vinyl film, so do not expect everyday scratches and road film or self healing.
Why choose a Black Gold wrap over a custom metallic respray?
A real metallic gold-flake respray is expensive, takes your car off the road for days, and is hard to color match if you ever need a repair. This wrap gives you the same gloss-and-flake look for far less, goes on faster, leaves your original paint intact, and peels off later if you want a change. A respray is permanent. A wrap is reversible.
How do I wash and care for it?
Treat it like glossy paint. Hand wash with a soft mitt and a pH neutral car shampoo, rinse well, and dry with a clean microfiber to keep the gloss sharp. Skip harsh solvents and stiff brushes. The film handles heat from about -30 to +140 C, and a garage-kept wrap will look good longer than one parked in full sun every day. With good care it lasts for years.
Can I install Black Gold myself?
Yes. It uses a Henkel solvent-based acrylic adhesive with air-release channels, so trapped bubbles push out to the edges instead of staying stuck under the film. You can run a dry or wet install. Take your time on curves and recesses with a little heat, and first-timers usually do well on flat and gently curved panels.
How much film do I need for my car?
It comes in 30ft (9m) and 59ft (18m) roll length options. A small car or partial job like a roof or hood can work off the shorter roll, while a full wrap on a sedan or larger vehicle usually needs the 59ft roll plus a little extra for mistakes and overlap. When in doubt, size up so you have margin for recuts.
