Wolfram Steel Black Metallic Car Wrap | Gloss Vinyl
💪 Hurry up! Only 9 left
Wolfram Steel Black is a deep gunmetal black with fine metal flake mixed right into the color layer. In the shade it reads as a moody near-black with a cool steel undertone, the kind of color that looks heavy and expensive on a parked car. Roll it into direct sun and the flake wakes up, scattering tiny points of light across every panel so the paint shifts as you walk around it.
This is a gloss finish, so the surface stays slick and reflective and the flake reads as sparkle rather than grain. Laid over your factory paint, the film also takes the daily hits of road grit, light scratches, and UV instead of the paint underneath. When you want a change later, it comes off and your original color is still there.

Key features
- Deep metallic sparkle: fine metal flake runs through the color layer, so the finish reads rich in the shade and glints with sparkle in direct sun.
- Glossy depth: a clear topcoat over the flake gives a wet, glossy shine with real depth, the same look factory metallic paint gets from flake in the basecoat.
- Air-release adhesive: built-in air channels push bubbles out, so the film lays flat and you can reposition as you work.
- Conforms to curves: the polymeric PVC stretches over mirrors, bumpers and body lines for a smooth, seamless wrap.
- Protects the paint underneath: the wrap takes the daily wear while your factory paint stays sealed and original.
- Removable: peels off cleanly later with heat, so you can change the look or go back to stock.

Frequently asked questions
What does the metallic flake actually do on Wolfram Steel Black?
The flake is fine metal mixed into the color layer. In low light it gives Wolfram Steel Black a deep steely depth, and in direct sun it throws thousands of tiny sparkle points so the panel looks alive and shifts as you move around the car.
Does this wrap look different in sun versus shade?
Yes, and that is the whole appeal. In shade Wolfram Steel Black sits as a cool gunmetal near-black. Under bright sun the flake lights up and the color reads brighter and more dimensional. Same panel, two very different moods depending on the light.
Is the surface textured or smooth?
It is smooth. This is a gloss metallic, so the top of the film is slick and reflective to the touch. The flake you see is suspended inside the color layer, not sitting on the surface, so you get the sparkle without any grit or roughness.
Will a wrap damage my paint or actually protect it?
On healthy factory paint it protects. The vinyl takes the road grime, light scratches, and UV that would otherwise hit your clear coat, and it lifts off cleanly when you are done. The one caution is flaking or aftermarket paint that is already weak, since adhesive can pull at loose areas.
How is this different from a real metallic respray?
A true metallic-flake respray is expensive, takes your car off the road for days, and is hard to repair or undo if you change your mind. Wolfram Steel Black vinyl gives you that flake look for far less, goes on faster, keeps your factory paint underneath, and peels off when you want a different color.
How do I wash and care for it?
Hand wash with a mild car soap and a soft mitt, then rinse and dry with a microfiber towel. Skip harsh solvents and stiff brushes. Knock bug splatter and bird mess off quickly so it does not sit on the gloss. Parking in a garage out of constant sun helps the flake and color last longer.
Can I install Wolfram Steel Black myself?
Many DIY installers do. The Henkel air-release adhesive has channels that let trapped air escape, so bubbles are far easier to push out than with cheap film. You can install dry or wet. Flat and gently curved panels are very doable at home, while deep curves and recesses take more patience and heat.
How much film do I need for my car?
It depends on the size of the vehicle and how much you are wrapping. The film comes in 30ft (9m) and 59ft (18m) roll lengths. A small car or a partial wrap can work from the shorter roll, while a full wrap on a larger vehicle usually needs the longer length plus a little extra for mistakes and complex areas.
