The film has a holographic laser layer built into it. As the angle between your eye, the light and the surface changes, that layer splits the light into different colors. So the dark black you see head on breaks into pink, green, blue and gold shimmer as you move around the car or as the sun hits it.

The resting color is a deep black. Once light moves across it you get a fine laser rainbow, mostly pinks, greens, blues and gold flashes depending on the angle and how bright the light is. Strong sunlight gives the loudest flip, while shade keeps it darker and more subtle.

Yes, plenty of DIY installers do. The film is self adhesive with an air-release backing, so it installs dry and the tiny channels let trapped air escape instead of bubbling. Work clean, take your time on curves, and use gentle heat to set it. Flat panels are beginner friendly, deep curves and mirrors take more patience.

It does. The 3.5mil film is removable and lifts cleanly without leaving glue behind on healthy factory paint. Take it slow and warm the film a little as you peel so it releases in one piece rather than tearing.
