Black Purple Matte Car Wrap | Polymeric Vinyl
🎉 Free Shipping! Ready to ship
Black Purple sits right between menacing and mysterious. In flat light it reads as a deep stealth black, then the angle changes and a cool purple undertone rolls across the panels. There is no gloss, no mirror, no glare. Just a smooth matte surface that swallows light and shows the body lines of your car instead of a hundred tiny reflections.
This is a color wrap, not a clear film. The polymeric vinyl lays over your factory paint and takes the daily hits for it: sun, light grit, washes, and parking lot brushes. Peel it off down the road and the original paint is still there underneath. You get a moody new look now and a clean reset later.

Key features
- Flat matte finish: a non-reflective topcoat gives the factory-flat, no-shine look that paint cannot match without a costly custom job.
- Hides minor flaws: the matte surface softens light, so it disguises small swirls and imperfections instead of spotlighting them like gloss does.
- Air-release adhesive: built-in air channels push bubbles out, so the film lays flat and you can reposition as you work.
- Conforms to curves: the polymeric PVC stretches over mirrors, bumpers and body lines for a smooth, seamless wrap.
- Protects the paint underneath: the wrap takes the daily wear while your factory paint stays sealed and original.
- Removable: peels off cleanly later with heat, so you can change the look or go back to stock.
- UV and weather resistant: the topcoat holds up to sun and rain across a -30 to +140 degree range.

Frequently asked questions
How long will a Black Purple matte wrap last?
With good care it holds its flat look for years. The matte surface and the purple shift stay even as long as you keep up with gentle hand washing. Cars that live in a garage or under cover last noticeably longer than ones that bake in the sun and sit out in winter every day. We do not quote a fixed year figure because real life on the road varies that much, but treat it well and it stays looking sharp for a long time.
Will this wrap damage my paint or actually protect it?
It protects it. The vinyl sits on top of healthy factory paint and takes the daily wear instead of the paint: sun fade, light grit, wash swirls, and small scuffs. Black Purple acts like a sacrificial skin over your original finish. As long as your paint is in good shape when you wrap, removal later is clean and the paint comes back out looking fresh.
How is this different from getting a matte respray?
A matte respray is one of the most expensive paint jobs you can buy, and matte paint is a nightmare to repair if you scratch it. Black Purple vinyl gives you that same flat, no-shine stealth look for far less, it goes on much faster, and it is fully reversible. Scuff a panel and you re-wrap that one panel instead of repainting the whole car. Your factory paint stays untouched underneath the whole time.
How do I wash and care for a matte wrap?
This is the big one, so read it twice. Never wax, polish, or machine-buff Black Purple. Any of those will rub shiny spots into the matte finish and you cannot undo it. Hand wash only with a matte-safe soap, use two buckets and a soft mitt, and dry with a clean microfiber. Skip the automatic brush car washes, they scratch and dull the flat look. If you get fuel, bird mess, or bug splatter on it, wipe it off quickly before it sets.
Can I install this myself?
Yes, plenty of DIY installers do. The film uses a Henkel solvent-based acrylic air-release adhesive, so the channels in the glue let trapped air push out to the edge instead of leaving bubbles. That makes it far more forgiving than cheap films. You can run a dry or wet install. Flat panels like a roof, hood, or doors are very doable at home. Take your time on deep curves and mirrors, work with a little heat, and Black Purple lays down clean.
Does it remove cleanly when I want a change?
It does, on paint that is in good condition. Warm the vinyl gently and pull it back at a low angle and it lifts away. Any light adhesive left behind comes off with adhesive remover. Because it is just a wrap, you are not stuck with Black Purple forever, you can go back to factory or wrap a whole new color whenever you like.
Will it stay flat or go shiny over time?
It stays matte as long as you care for it the right way. The only thing that turns a matte wrap shiny is rubbing it: wax, polish, buffing, harsh scrubbing, or automatic wash brushes. Avoid all of those and Black Purple keeps its even flat finish and that subtle purple shift. The matte look is built into the film, it is not a coating that wears off.
How much film do I need for my car?
The rolls are 1.52m (5ft) wide and come in 6m, 18m, and 23m lengths. As a rough guide, a small car usually needs around 15m, a midsize sedan around 18m, and a large SUV or truck closer to 23m. Partial jobs like a roof, hood, or mirrors take much less. Order a little extra for mistakes and tricky curves, and if you are unsure of your exact car, send us the model and we will help you pick the right length.
