Black Matte Car Wrap | Polymeric Vinyl

Black matte is the cleanest stealth look you can put on a car. It reads as a deep solid black with zero shine, so the light dies on the surface instead of bouncing off it. No gloss, no highlights, no mirror finish. Just a flat blacked-out body that makes the lines of the car do all the talking. It is the look people pay thousands for at a paint shop, and here it goes on as a film.
The wrap does more than change the color. It lays a layer of polymeric vinyl over your factory paint, so the original surface underneath is covered from sun, light scratches, road grime and daily wear. When you want your old color back, the film comes off and the paint is still there. You get the murdered-out flat black today and your resale paint protected the whole time.

Key features
- Flat matte finish: a non-reflective topcoat gives the factory-flat, no-shine look that paint cannot match without a costly custom job.
- Hides minor flaws: the matte surface softens light, so it disguises small swirls and imperfections instead of spotlighting them like gloss does.
- Air-release adhesive: built-in air channels push bubbles out, so the film lays flat and you can reposition as you work.
- Conforms to curves: the polymeric PVC stretches over mirrors, bumpers and body lines for a smooth, seamless wrap.
- Protects the paint underneath: the wrap takes the daily wear while your factory paint stays sealed and original.
- Removable: peels off cleanly later with heat, so you can change the look or go back to stock.
- UV and weather resistant: the topcoat holds up to sun and rain across a -30 to +140 degree range.

Frequently asked questions
How long will a black matte wrap last?
With good care a black matte wrap holds its flat look for years. Cars that live in a garage or under cover last the longest because they get less sun and less heat cycling. Wash it by hand, keep harsh chemicals off it, and the flat black stays even and rich for a long time.
Will the wrap damage my paint or actually protect it?
It protects it. The black film sits on top of your factory paint and takes the daily abuse instead, so sun, light scratches and road grime hit the wrap and not the original surface. As long as your paint is in sound condition when it goes on, the wrap shields it and comes off clean later.
How is this different from getting my car painted matte black?
A matte black paint job is one of the most expensive and least forgiving finishes a body shop can do, and once it is on the car it is permanent and hard to repair. This wrap gives you the same flat blacked-out look for far less, it goes on faster, and it is fully reversible. Peel it off and your factory paint is untouched underneath.
How do I wash and care for a matte wrap?
This is the one thing to get right. Never wax, polish or machine-buff a matte wrap, because any of those will rub shiny spots into the flat black and ruin the stealth look. Hand wash only with a matte-safe soap, skip the automatic brush car washes, and wipe off fuel spills, bird mess or bug splatter quickly before they sit. Treat it gently and the finish stays dead flat.
Can I install this black wrap myself?
Yes. The film uses a Henkel solvent-based acrylic air-release adhesive, so the air channels in the glue let trapped bubbles push out as you squeegee instead of getting locked under the film. It lets you reposition while you work and you can install dry or wet. Flat panels like doors and the roof are very DIY-friendly. Take your time on deep curves and bumpers.
Does the wrap come off cleanly when I want it gone?
Yes. When you are ready for a change, the black film peels away and leaves your factory paint behind, with little to no residue when it is removed properly. A bit of gentle heat helps it release. That is the whole point of a wrap over a respray, your original paint is waiting underneath the entire time.
Will it stay flat black or start to go shiny?
It stays flat as long as you never buff, wax or polish it. The matte finish is built into the surface of the film, not a coating that wears off, so normal hand washing will not change it. Shiny patches only show up when something rubs the surface, which is exactly why brush washes and polishing are off the table for matte.
How much film do I need for my car?
The rolls are 1.52m (5ft) wide and come in 6m, 18m and 23m lengths. The 6m roll suits accent pieces like a roof, hood or mirrors. A full small to mid-size car usually lands in the 18m range, and larger vehicles or anyone wanting extra for mistakes and re-dos should go with the 23m roll. When in doubt size up, since matte panels are easier to match from a single roll.
