Grey Gold Diamond Car Wrap | Matte Vinyl
🎉 Free Shipping! Ready to ship
The Grey Gold Diamond wrap plays two colors against each other in a way a single-tone paint job simply cannot. In flat light the surface reads as a deep matte grey. Move the car into direct sun or a lit garage and a warm gold gradient rises through it, caught by thousands of micro diamond flakes suspended in the film. The result is a finish that looks entirely different depending on where you are standing.
Wrap it over your factory paint and you get that custom effect without touching the underlying color. The film shields the paint from door dings, swirl marks, and everyday road grime, and when you want a change it comes off cleanly without leaving any residue behind.

Key features
- Diamond micro-flake layer creates a two-tone gradient that shifts between grey and gold as the viewing angle changes
- True matte finish with no gloss or sheen, giving the effect a raw, custom look that stands apart from painted surfaces
- Polymeric vinyl film with a pressure-sensitive air-release adhesive for smooth, bubble-free application by hand
- Dry or wet installation method, so you can choose whichever technique suits your experience level
- PET plastic liner protects the adhesive during handling and peels away cleanly before install
- Fully removable from sound factory paint without adhesive residue, so the wrap never commits you to a permanent change
- Matte care rule: hand wash only with a soft mitt and gentle shampoo. Never wax, polish, or machine-buff a matte surface as it creates permanent shiny patches

Frequently asked questions
What does the grey gold diamond effect actually look like on the car?
In overcast or indoor light the surface sits as a flat, deep grey with almost no reflection. When direct sunlight or a garage light hits it at an angle, a warm gold tone rises through the grey and the micro diamond flakes catch the light individually, giving the panel a subtle sparkle and a clear gradient between the two colors. The effect is always moving slightly as you walk around the car.
How is this different from a custom two-tone diamond paint job?
A specialty painter achieving this kind of grey-to-gold gradient effect with embedded diamond flake would typically require multiple base coats, a flake layer, a tinted top coat, and a clear coat, followed by a wet sand and buff. The cost runs into thousands of dollars and if it chips or scratches later it is very hard to match. This film wraps over your factory paint, costs a fraction of that, and comes off cleanly if you ever want to change the color or sell the car.
Will the wrap protect my paint?
Yes, it acts as a physical barrier over the factory surface. It guards against light scratches, swirl marks from washing, door dings, bird droppings, and general road grime. Keep in mind this is a cosmetic color-change vinyl, not a protective vinyl film. It is not designed to absorb stone chips or self-heal. Think of it as a removable custom color that also keeps your paint in better shape day to day.
How do I wash and care for a matte vinyl finish?
Hand wash only. Use a soft microfiber mitt and a gentle, pH-neutral car shampoo. Rinse thoroughly and let it air dry or pat dry with a clean microfiber towel. Never apply wax, polish, sealant, or any compound to a matte finish and never use a machine polisher on it. Any of those products will create permanent shiny spots that cannot be buffed out on a matte surface.
Can I install this myself?
Yes. The film has an air-release adhesive channel pattern that lets trapped air escape as you squeegee the film down, which is the main thing that makes DIY installs forgiving. Most buyers start with smaller panels like a roof, hood, or mirrors to build confidence before moving to full bumpers or doors. Both dry and wet application work with this film, so you can use the method you are most comfortable with.
Will it remove cleanly when I want to take it off?
Yes, provided the underlying paint is sound and fully cured. Warm the film gently with a heat gun on a low setting, then peel slowly from a corner at a shallow angle. The adhesive is formulated to release without leaving residue on factory or quality respray paint. If your paint has chips, peeling clear coat, or a respray that is less than six months old, test a small hidden area first.
How much film do I need for a full car wrap?
A typical sedan or compact SUV full wrap uses roughly 55 to 65 square feet of film. Larger trucks and SUVs often need more. It is always worth ordering a bit extra to account for trimming, mistakes on complex curves, and having a small reserve for future repairs. If you are only wrapping panels such as the hood, roof, and trunk, measure each panel and add about 20 percent for overlap and trimming.
Does the matte finish show fingerprints and water spots more than gloss?
Matte surfaces do not hide fingerprints as well as a dark gloss finish would, but the flat texture means light smudges tend to blend in rather than standing out with a bright reflection. Water spots can be more visible on matte if water is left to dry on the surface. The best habit is to rinse and dry the car properly after washing and avoid parking under trees for extended periods.
