Heavy Metallic Dark Black is a deep, blacked-out tone with fine metallic flake worked into a flat, non-reflective face. In daylight you catch a soft shimmer in the grain. In shade it drops back to a dark, stealthy black that swallows light instead of bouncing it. It is the look of a murdered-out build without the glare of gloss.
The film wraps over your factory panels and clings to every curve and edge. While it gives the car a new flat black character, it also covers the paint underneath and shields it from daily wear like sun, road grime and light marks. When you want the original color back, the wrap comes off and your paint is still there.

Key features
- Flat matte finish: a non-reflective topcoat gives the factory-flat, no-shine look that paint cannot match without a costly custom job.
- Hides minor flaws: the matte surface softens light, so it disguises small swirls and imperfections instead of spotlighting them like gloss does.
- Air-release adhesive: built-in air channels push bubbles out, so the film lays flat and you can reposition as you work.
- Conforms to curves: the polymeric PVC stretches over mirrors, bumpers and body lines for a smooth, seamless wrap.
- Protects the paint underneath: the wrap takes the daily wear while your factory paint stays sealed and original.
- Removable: peels off cleanly later with heat, so you can change the look or go back to stock.
- UV and weather resistant: the topcoat holds up to sun and rain across a -30 to +140 degree range.

Frequently asked questions
How long will a Heavy Metallic Dark Black wrap last on my car?
With normal use and good care it holds its flat metallic black look for years. A car kept in a garage and washed by hand will always outlast one parked in full sun every day. Heat, harsh washes and grime are what wear any wrap down, so gentle care keeps this dark black looking fresh much longer.
Will this wrap protect or damage my paint?
It protects it. The film sits over your factory paint and covers it from sun, road grime and daily wear, so the panels underneath stay shielded. Applied to clean, sound paint it does no harm. It actually keeps the original finish covered for the whole time it is on the car.
Is a matte wrap better than a matte respray?
For most owners, yes. A matte respray in this kind of deep metallic black is one of the most expensive paint jobs you can order, and any future scratch is hard to blend. This wrap costs far less, goes on faster, and peels off later with your factory paint untouched. A respray is permanent. The wrap is reversible.
How do I wash and care for this matte black wrap?
This is the key point for matte. Never wax, polish or machine-buff it, because those leave shiny patches that ruin the flat finish. Hand wash with a matte-safe soap, skip the automatic brush tunnels, and wipe off fuel spills or bird mess quickly before they set. Gentle hand care is all this dark black needs to stay even and flat.
Can I install it myself?
Yes. The Henkel solvent-based acrylic air-release adhesive lets air escape as you lay the film, so you fight far fewer bubbles. You can work dry or wet. A patient first-timer can wrap flat panels at home, while full cars with deep curves are easier with a second pair of hands and a heat gun.
Does it remove cleanly later?
Applied to healthy factory paint, it pulls off cleanly when you are done with the look. Warming the film with a heat gun helps it lift in larger pieces. Any light adhesive left behind wipes away with adhesive remover, leaving your original paint ready to show again.
Will it stay flat or turn shiny over time?
It stays flat as long as you care for it the matte way. The shine that worries people only shows up from waxing, polishing or buffing, which you should never do on a matte wrap. Hand wash it and keep wax off it and this Heavy Metallic Dark Black holds its even, non-reflective face.
How much film do I need for my car?
The rolls are 1.52m (5ft) wide and come in 6m, 18m and 23m lengths. A 6m length suits accents like a roof, hood or mirrors. Most full sedans and small SUVs land around the 18m roll, and larger vehicles or first-time installers who want spare film for mistakes should choose the 23m length.
