Matte White Purple Color-Shift Car Wrap | Chameleon Vinyl
$180.00 USD
1.52*6m(5*20ft) / Matte White Purple

This Matte White Purple wrap does not sit on one color. In bright light and head-on it reads as a soft frosty white, then as the sun moves or you walk around the car it slides into a cool violet and deep purple across the curves. The matte surface kills the glare and keeps the shift looking moody instead of flashy, so the flip shows up in the body lines and panels rather than in a shiny reflection.

It is a real color change you can live with and undo. The film lays over your factory paint and takes the daily hits of dust, light scratches, sun and washing, so the original finish stays protected underneath. When you want a different look down the road it peels away and leaves the paint as it was.

Key features

  • Color shifts as you move: layered pigment flips the shade with the viewing angle and the light, so the car looks alive in motion and never the same in two photos.
  • Air-release adhesive: built-in air channels push bubbles out, so the film lays flat and you can reposition as you work.
  • Conforms to curves: the polymeric PVC stretches over mirrors, bumpers and body lines for a smooth, seamless wrap.
  • Protects the paint underneath: the wrap takes the daily wear while your factory paint stays sealed and original.
  • Removable: peels off cleanly later with heat, so you can change the look or go back to stock.
  • UV and weather resistant: the topcoat holds up to sun and rain across a -30 to +140 degree range.

Frequently asked questions

How does the white to purple color shift actually work?

The pigment in this film bends light differently depending on the angle you view it from and where the light is coming from. Look straight on in daylight and it reads frosty white. Move around the car, catch it at a low sun angle or under street lights and it rolls into violet and deep purple. Nothing electronic and no app, the flip is built into the film and happens on its own as you and the light move.

What colors will I really see on the car?

Mainly a soft matte white as the base tone, then violet and a deeper purple coming through on the curves and edges as the angle changes. Flat panels like the roof and hood show the white more, while body lines, mirrors and bumpers catch the purple flip the strongest. Sunny days and night lighting both pull the shift out in different ways.

Will this wrap hurt my paint or actually protect it?

It protects it. The vinyl covers your factory paint and takes the daily wear instead, things like dust, light surface scratches, sun fade and the scrubbing from washing. The paint stays sealed underneath in the same condition it went on. When the film comes off later the original finish is still there.

How is this matte wrap cared for, can I wax it?

No wax, no polish and no machine buffing on this one. It is a matte finish and any of those will rub in shiny spots that you cannot undo. Hand wash only with a soft mitt and a gentle car soap, rinse well and pat or blow it dry. Keep it clean and the matte look stays even across the whole car.

How does a color-shift wrap compare to a real color-flip paint job?

A true multi-tone color-shift paint job is one of the most expensive and slow things you can do to a car, and if you ever scratch it the repair is a nightmare. This wrap gives you a similar flip effect for a fraction of the cost, goes on far faster, protects the paint you already have and peels off when you want a change. A custom flip paint job is permanent and very hard to fix.

Can I install this myself?

Yes, plenty of DIY installers do. The film uses an air-release adhesive with channels in the glue that let trapped air escape, so bubbles push out instead of getting locked in, and that gives you time to reposition. You can run a dry or wet install depending on what you are comfortable with. Take your time on mirrors and bumpers and a heat source helps the film wrap into curves and hold.

Does it come off cleanly later?

Yes. On sound factory paint it peels away without tearing up the surface and without leaving a mess behind, especially with a little warmth to soften the adhesive as you pull. That is the whole point of a wrap, you get the matte white to purple look now and your paint back later if you decide to change.

How much film do I need for my car?

The roll is 1.52m (5ft) wide. As a rough guide a small car or coupe runs around 15m, a midsize sedan around 18m and a large SUV or truck around 20 to 25m. Measure your panels and add extra for mistakes, curves and the parts that wrap around edges. If you only want a roof, hood or accents you need far less.
