Metallic Grey Satin Car Wrap | Polymeric Vinyl

Metallic Grey lands somewhere between gunmetal and storm cloud, a deep flat grey with a fine metallic grain that catches just enough light to give the panel depth without any shine. There is no gloss bounce and no wet look here. It reads as a moody, factory-stealth finish that makes a car look heavier and more serious from across a parking lot.
It is a color change you can live with. The film wraps over your existing paint and shields it from sun, light scuffs, road grime and the small daily marks that wear a finish down. When you want a different look later, it comes off and the original paint is still there underneath.

Key features
- Flat matte finish: a non-reflective topcoat gives the factory-flat, no-shine look that paint cannot match without a costly custom job.
- Hides minor flaws: the matte surface softens light, so it disguises small swirls and imperfections instead of spotlighting them like gloss does.
- Air-release adhesive: built-in air channels push bubbles out, so the film lays flat and you can reposition as you work.
- Conforms to curves: the polymeric PVC stretches over mirrors, bumpers and body lines for a smooth, seamless wrap.
- Protects the paint underneath: the wrap takes the daily wear while your factory paint stays sealed and original.
- Removable: peels off cleanly later with heat, so you can change the look or go back to stock.
- UV and weather resistant: the topcoat holds up to sun and rain across a -30 to +140 degree range.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a Metallic Grey matte wrap last?
With good care it holds its flat grey look for years. The flat metallic finish is forgiving, so light marks and dust do not stand out the way they can on gloss. A car kept in a garage and out of constant sun will keep its color and finish noticeably longer than one parked outside every day.
Will wrapping in Metallic Grey damage my paint?
No. The film sits on top of your factory paint and actually shields it from sun, grit and small daily scuffs. It is a color vinyl wrap, not a heavy-duty protection film, so it will not stop stone damage, but for normal wear it keeps the panel underneath in better shape than bare paint. As long as the original paint is sound, the wrap protects it rather than harming it.
Metallic Grey wrap or a matte grey respray, which is better?
A wrap is cheaper, faster and reversible. A matte grey paint job is one of the most expensive finishes to spray and one of the hardest to repair, since you cannot just polish a matte respray to fix a mark. With this wrap you get the same flat metallic grey, your factory paint stays protected underneath, and you can peel it off down the road instead of being stuck with it.
How do I wash and care for a matte grey wrap?
This is the most important part. Never wax, polish or machine-buff a matte wrap, because any of those will leave shiny patches in the flat grey finish. Hand wash with a matte-safe soap, skip the automatic brush car washes, and rinse off fuel splashes, bird mess and bug splatter quickly before they sit. Treated this way the finish stays evenly flat.
Can I install Metallic Grey myself?
Yes. The film uses a Henkel solvent-based acrylic air-release adhesive, so trapped air pushes out to the edges instead of leaving bubbles, which gives you time to reposition as you go. You can run it dry or wet. Flat panels are very doable for a careful first-timer. Deep curves and bumpers take patience and a heat gun, so take your time on those sections.
Does Metallic Grey remove cleanly later?
Yes. When you are ready for a change, warm the film with a heat gun and peel it back at a low angle. On sound factory paint it lifts off without taking the paint with it, leaving the panel ready for a fresh wrap or its original look. That clean removal is a big reason people choose a wrap over a permanent respray.
Will the finish stay flat or go shiny over time?
It stays flat as long as you care for it like a matte finish. Shiny spots come from waxing, polishing, buffing or harsh brush washes, not from the film aging on its own. Avoid those, hand wash it gently, and the Metallic Grey keeps its even, non-reflective look across every panel.
How much film do I need for my car?
The rolls are 1.52m wide (about 5ft) and come in 6m, 18m and 23m lengths. As a rough guide, a small car or full color change usually needs around 15 to 18m, a mid-size sedan often lands near 18m, and a large SUV or truck can need 23m or more. Accents like a roof, hood or mirrors fit easily within a 6m roll. Measure your panels and add a little extra for trimming and mistakes.
