With normal care it holds its flat brushed-steel look for years. Heat, harsh sun and frequent automatic car washes wear any matte film down faster, so a car that lives in a garage will keep that crisp grain and even tone much longer than one parked outside all day. Wash it by hand and treat it well and it stays looking sharp for a long time.

It protects it. The Metallic Brushed Steel film sits on top of your factory paint and takes the daily abuse of dust, light scratches, sun and road grime in its place. As long as your original paint is healthy and properly bonded, the wrap shields it while it is on and comes away cleanly when you remove it, leaving the paint underneath sealed and untouched.

A wrap is the easier call for most people. A matte respray in a brushed-metal tone is expensive, takes your car off the road for days, is hard to touch up if it gets damaged, and permanently changes your factory paint. This wrap costs far less, goes on faster, keeps your original paint intact underneath, and peels off when you want a different look. You get the industrial steel finish without committing to it forever.

This is the most important point for any matte buyer. Never wax, polish or machine-buff this wrap. Those products and a buffer fill in the flat texture and leave shiny patches that ruin the brushed-steel look. Hand wash only, with a matte-safe soap, using two buckets and a soft mitt. Skip automatic brush washes. Rinse and dry with a clean microfibre, and clean off fuel spills, bird mess or bug splatter quickly before they set into the finish.

Yes. The film has Henkel solvent-based acrylic air-release adhesive, so trapped air pushes out to the edges through tiny channels in the glue instead of leaving bubbles you have to chase. That makes it far more forgiving for a careful DIY installer. You can lay it dry or wet. Take your time on curves and recesses, use gentle heat to shape it, and post-heat the edges so they stay locked down.

It does. When you want to switch it out, warm each panel gently and peel the film back slowly at a low angle. On healthy factory paint it lifts away without taking color with it. Any light adhesive left behind wipes off with a proper adhesive remover, and your original paint is right there underneath.

It stays flat if you care for it the matte way. The shiny spots people worry about almost always come from wax, polish, buffing or a stiff automatic wash brush, not from age. Keep wax and polish off it, hand wash with a matte-safe soap, and wipe up spills fast, and the brushed-steel grain stays even and matte across the whole car.

The rolls are 1.52m wide (5ft) and come in 6m, 18m and 23m lengths. As a rough guide, a small car or a partial job like a roof, hood and mirrors fits within the 6m roll. A full sedan or coupe usually lands around the 18m length. A large SUV, truck or van, or any first-time install where you want spare film for mistakes, is safer with the 23m roll. When you are between sizes, size up so you are not short mid-install.
