Flowing Phantom Black Red Color-Shift Car Wrap | Chameleon Vinyl
🎉 Free Shipping! Ready to ship
Flowing Phantom Black Red lives in two worlds at once. Straight on and in low light it reads as a deep, near-black shadow. Catch it under sun or a streetlight and it floods with molten red, like embers moving across the panels as you walk past. The flip is gradual and liquid, which is where the "flowing" name comes from. No two angles look the same.
This is a real color-changing wrap, not a coat of paint. It lays a chameleon film over your factory finish, so it changes your whole look while it shields the paint underneath from daily grit, light scratches and sun. When you want to go back to stock, it peels away and your original paint is still there.

Key features
- Color shifts as you move: layered pigment flips the shade with the viewing angle and the light, so the car looks alive in motion and never the same in two photos.
- Air-release adhesive: built-in air channels push bubbles out, so the film lays flat and you can reposition as you work.
- Conforms to curves: the polymeric PVC stretches over mirrors, bumpers and body lines for a smooth, seamless wrap.
- Protects the paint underneath: the wrap takes the daily wear while your factory paint stays sealed and original.
- Removable: peels off cleanly later with heat, so you can change the look or go back to stock.
- UV and weather resistant: the topcoat holds up to sun and rain across a -30 to +140 degree range.

Frequently asked questions
How does the color-shift effect actually work?
The face film carries chameleon pigment that bends light differently depending on the angle you view it from and the light hitting it. As you move around the car, or as the car moves through sun and shade, the color travels. Nothing electronic, no app. It is purely the film reacting to light and angle.
What colors will this one show?
Flowing Phantom Black Red sits between a deep black and a glowing red. In shade and low light it looks almost black. In bright light it lights up into warm red tones, with a flowing transition through the two as the angle changes. Expect dark, dramatic shots indoors and a red glow outdoors.
Will wrapping hurt my paint, or help it?
It helps. The wrap sits on top of your factory paint and takes the daily abuse instead, shielding it from light scratches, road grime and sun. Your real paint stays sealed and clean underneath. When the wrap comes off later, the paint is in the same shape it was the day you covered it.
Why pick this over a real black-to-red paint job?
A true color-flip paint job is one of the most expensive finishes you can buy, takes a long time, and is hard and costly to repair if a panel gets damaged. This wrap gives you the same dramatic black-to-red flow for a fraction of the price, goes on far faster, protects the paint you already have, and peels off when you want a change.
Can I install it myself?
Yes. The film uses a Henkel solvent-based acrylic air-release adhesive, so trapped air pushes out through tiny channels instead of bubbling up. That gives you time to lay it down and reposition before it fully grabs. You can run a dry or wet install. Take your time on curves and bumpers, and use heat to set it into the deeper contours.
How do I wash and care for it?
Hand wash with a gentle car shampoo and a soft mitt, then rinse and dry with a clean microfiber. Skip harsh brushes and automatic car washes when you can. Get bird droppings, bugs and fuel splashes off quickly so they do not sit on the film. Keep it garaged or shaded when possible and the color stays rich for longer.
Does it remove cleanly later?
In good condition, yes. Warm the film with a heat source and pull it back slowly at a low angle and it lifts away from sound factory paint without taking the paint with it. Any light adhesive left behind wipes off with adhesive remover. Heat-aged or damaged film can come off in pieces, so plan removal before it has been baking on for too long.
How much film do I need for my car?
The roll is 1.52m (5ft) wide. As a rough guide, a small car needs around 15m, a midsize sedan around 18m, and a large SUV or truck around 22m or more. Add extra for mirrors, door jambs, mistakes and learning curve. When in doubt, buy a little long. A full continuous run is always better than scrambling for a matching piece later.
