Volcano Grey Super Gloss Car Wrap | Polymeric Vinyl

Volcano Grey lands right in the sweet spot between cool gunmetal and warm stone. It is a moody, smoky grey that reads almost charcoal in shade and softens to a lighter ash under bright sun. The gloss finish gives it real depth, so the panels look wet and painted on rather than covered. It is the kind of grey that flatters sharp body lines and looks just as good on a daily driver as it does on a weekend build.
This is a true color wrap, not paint protection film. The polymeric PVC vinyl lays a fresh layer of gloss Volcano Grey over your existing panels and shields the factory paint underneath from sun, light scuffs, and the grime of daily driving. When you want a change, it comes off and your original paint is still there.

Key features
- Painted-on gloss finish: a mirror-gloss topcoat gives the deep wet-paint shine without the cost of a respray.
- Air-release adhesive: built-in air channels push bubbles out, so the film lays flat and you can reposition as you work.
- Conforms to curves: the polymeric PVC stretches over mirrors, bumpers and body lines for a smooth, seamless wrap.
- Protects the paint underneath: the wrap takes the daily wear while your factory paint stays sealed and original.
- Removable: peels off cleanly later with heat, so you can change the look or go back to stock.
- UV and weather resistant: the gloss topcoat holds up to sun and rain across a -30 to +140 degree range.
- Easy to keep clean: wipes down and washes like paint, with no special care needed.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a Volcano Grey gloss wrap last?
With normal care it holds its gloss and color for years. Heat, sun, and harsh washes are what wear any wrap down, so a car that lives in a garage will keep that smoky grey shine longer than one parked outside all day. The film is rated from -30 to +140 C, so it takes hot summers and cold winters in stride. Wash it gently and skip automatic brush washes and it will look sharp for a long time.
Will the wrap damage my paint or actually protect it?
It protects it. The Volcano Grey vinyl sits on top of your factory paint and takes the daily hits instead, the sun, the light scuffs, the road grime. The Henkel solvent-based acrylic adhesive is made to grip clean, well-kept factory paint and then release when you want it off. As long as your paint is sound and not already flaking, wrapping shields it rather than harming it.
Gloss wrap or a full respray, which makes more sense?
For most owners the wrap wins. A respray in this kind of deep grey costs far more, takes your car off the road for days, and there is no going back. Volcano Grey gloss vinyl costs less, goes on faster, keeps your original paint safe underneath, and peels off clean if you want a different look later. You also get the same wet, painted-on gloss without committing forever.
How much film do I need for my car?
The rolls are 1.52m wide (about 5ft) and come in 6m, 18m, and 23m lengths. As a rough guide a small car or a set of accent panels works with the 18m roll, while a full sedan or SUV usually needs the 23m. The 6m is great for a roof, hood, mirrors, or trim in Volcano Grey. When in doubt size up, since extra film gives you room for mistakes and complex curves.
Can I install Volcano Grey myself?
Yes, many DIY installers do. The adhesive is air-release, so the tiny channels let trapped air escape and that cuts down on bubbles while you work. You can install dry or wet depending on what you are comfortable with. Flat panels like a hood or roof are very doable at home. Bumpers and deep curves take more patience and a bit of heat, so go slow and work in sections.
Does the wrap come off cleanly later?
It does when removed properly. Warm the Volcano Grey film with a heat gun, lift a corner, and pull it back slowly at a low angle so it releases in sheets. Done on healthy factory paint it leaves no color behind, and any light adhesive residue wipes off with a proper adhesive remover. Removing fresh wrap is easier than film that has baked in the sun for years, so do not wait forever if a change is coming.
How do I wash and care for a gloss grey wrap?
Hand washing is best. Use a soft mitt, a pH-neutral car shampoo, and two buckets so you are not dragging grit across the gloss. Rinse off bird droppings and bug splatter quickly since they can stain if left to sit. Skip automatic brush washes and pressure washing close to the edges. Dry with a soft microfiber and that deep Volcano Grey gloss stays clean and reflective.
Will the gloss fade over time?
The gloss finish is built to hold its shine, and Volcano Grey hides light wear better than a pale color does. Like any wrap, constant sun and heat are the real enemies, so a garage-kept car keeps its luster longer than one baking outside every day. Regular gentle washing and the occasional wrap-safe sealant go a long way toward keeping that smoky grey looking fresh.
