Grey Headlight Tint Film | TPU Headlight Wrap
🎉 Free Shipping! Ready to ship
A grey tint turns your headlights into a subtle, blacked-out statement without going fully dark. This film gives your lenses a cool, understated smoke effect that looks clean from any angle while shielding the plastic from UV rays that cause yellowing and oxidation over time.
Made from Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU), it flexes around curved headlight housings without creasing, buffers small road debris, and lifts off cleanly whenever you want a change. No harsh chemicals, no odor during install, and no sticky residue left behind on the lens.
Key features
- TPU material: Outstanding elasticity lets the film conform to curved and compound-shaped headlight lenses without tearing or lifting at the edges.
- Impact resistant: Absorbs energy from road pebbles and debris, adding a protective buffer that standard smoked vinyl film cannot match.
- UV blocking: Filters UV radiation that breaks down polycarbonate lenses, helping prevent the yellowing and hazing that dulls headlight output over time.
- Zero-residue repositionable adhesive: The acrylic adhesive grips firmly in use but releases cleanly, leaving the lens surface spotless when you remove or reposition the film.
- Wet-stick installation: Apply using the slip-and-squeegee method with a soapy solution, giving you time to align the film precisely before it sets.
- Eco-friendly and odor-free: Contains no harmful chemicals and produces no fumes during installation, safe for indoor shop work or a garage DIY project.

Frequently asked questions
What does the grey tint actually look like on the headlight?
It lays a cool, neutral smoke over the lens. In daylight the headlight reads as a muted grey rather than the raw clear or amber of an untinted lens. At night, when the light fires up, the film is semi-transparent so the beam still projects forward. The effect is subtle rather than blacked-out, making it popular on silver, white, and light-coloured cars where a full black smoke would look too heavy.
Will the grey film reduce how much light my headlights put out?
Any tint film reduces light transmission to some degree, and grey sits in the mid-smoke range. For daytime driving and parking lights the visual change is minimal. If your headlights are your primary safety concern at night, grey is a gentler choice than a darker black tint, but you should still check local road regulations for tinted headlights before fitting any tint film.
Why choose TPU over a regular smoked vinyl headlight film?
Standard vinyl headlight films are thinner and stiffer. TPU has a much higher elasticity rating, which means it stretches and wraps around tight curves without lifting corners or leaving stress wrinkles. It also has measurable impact resistance that plain vinyl lacks, so it absorbs minor debris hits rather than cracking or deforming. And the TPU adhesive on this film is formulated to release cleanly, something vinyl films are not always consistent about.
How do I install the grey TPU headlight tint film?
Clean the headlight lens thoroughly and remove any wax or silicone residue. Mix a small amount of baby shampoo or dedicated slip solution with water in a spray bottle. Spray the lens generously, peel the film backing, lay the film onto the wet surface, and use a squeegee to push out the solution and air from the centre outward. The wet method gives you several minutes to slide and reposition the film before it sets. Trim any overhang with a sharp blade once the film is locked in place.
Can I remove the film later without damaging the headlight lens?
Yes. The repositionable acrylic adhesive is designed to release without leaving glue traces on the polycarbonate lens. To remove, warm the film gently with a heat gun or the low setting on a hair dryer to soften the adhesive, then peel from one corner at a slow, even angle. No solvent is needed and the lens surface should be completely clean after removal.
Does the film protect against UV yellowing?
It does. Polycarbonate headlight lenses oxidise and turn yellow when exposed to UV over time. The TPU film blocks UV radiation at the lens surface, slowing that degradation for as long as the film is in place. It will not reverse existing yellowing, so if the lens has already hazed it is worth doing a polish before fitting the film.
Is this suitable for a DIY install or do I need a professional?
The wet-stick method is beginner-friendly. The slip solution gives you a generous working window to position the film without it bonding immediately. Most first-time installers do a clean job on a flat or gently curved housing. Headlights with sharp wraparound corners take more patience, and if you are fitting the film on a high-end vehicle for the first time a professional installer will get a crease-free result faster.
Are other tint shades available if grey is not the right fit?
Yes. The same TPU headlight tint film is available in Light Black, Black, Light Grey, Orange, Blue, Viper Green, Green, and Yellow. If you want a heavier smoke effect, Light Black or Black will go darker. If you want something barely there, Light Grey is a step up from stock with a very light filter. All shades share the same TPU construction, impact resistance, and zero-residue adhesive.
