Want a cleaner, more understated look without going full dark smoke? This light grey TPU headlight tint film adds a soft, refined tint that tones down the harsh clear-lens look while keeping your lights clearly visible at night. It sits between stock and smoked, giving your build a polished, factory-plus finish that turns heads without announcing itself.
Made from thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), this film goes beyond what standard vinyl smoked film offers. The material flexes and absorbs light debris, blocks UV rays to prevent lens yellowing, and lifts off clean when you are ready to change things up. No glue ghost, no lens damage, no regrets.
Key features
- Subtle light grey tint: Softens the raw clear-lens look with a refined, understated smoke that suits both factory and modified builds.
- TPU construction: Thermoplastic polyurethane is more flexible and impact-absorbent than standard vinyl, buffering road debris and pebbles that would otherwise chip or crack the lens.
- UV resistant: Blocks UV rays at the lens surface, slowing the oxidation and yellowing that dulls headlights over time.
- Zero-residue repositionable adhesive: The acrylic adhesive grips firmly in use but releases cleanly, leaving no glue residue on the lens when removed.
- Waterproof and anti-fouling: Resists water, road grime, and bug splatter so the film stays clear and the lens behind it stays protected.
- Eco-friendly, odor-free install: No harmful chemicals and no fumes during installation, suitable for both DIY enthusiasts and professional shops.

Frequently asked questions
How does light grey look compared to the other tint shades?
Light grey is the most subtle option in the range. It takes the edge off a clear lens without darkening the housing noticeably. In direct sunlight the headlight reads as lightly tinted. At night the difference between light grey and untinted is minimal to the eye. If you want a discreet, factory-adjacent finish rather than an obvious smoked look, light grey is the right choice.
Will the light grey tint reduce how much light my headlights put out?
Any tint film reduces the light that passes through to some degree, and light grey is among the least restrictive shades in the lineup. For most drivers using factory halogen or LED headlights, the reduction in output is modest. If you run upgraded high-output bulbs you will have additional headroom. We always recommend confirming local road-use regulations before driving with tinted headlights.
What is the difference between this TPU film and a standard vinyl headlight tint?
Standard vinyl smoked film is a rigid cut sheet that can crack or crease around compound curves. TPU is thermoplastic polyurethane, a material that stretches and flexes to follow the curve of the lens without creasing. It also absorbs minor impacts from pebbles and road debris that would dent or mark a vinyl film, and its adhesive releases without leaving glue residue where vinyl can sometimes transfer adhesive onto the lens.
How do I install the light grey TPU headlight tint film?
This film uses a wet-stick method, sometimes called the slip-and-squeegee technique. Mist the headlight lens and the adhesive side of the film with an application solution, position the film on the wet surface, then use a squeegee to push the liquid out from the center toward the edges. The TPU material stretches enough to wrap around most factory headlight curves. The process is manageable for a careful DIYer and a familiar routine for professional installers.
How do I remove the film when I want to change it?
Warm the film surface with a heat gun or hair dryer on a low setting to soften the adhesive, then peel from one corner at a slow, steady angle. The repositionable acrylic adhesive on this film is designed to release cleanly. Once the film is off, the lens underneath should be free of residue. If any adhesive trace remains, a little isopropyl alcohol on a microfiber cloth clears it up without damaging the lens.
Will the film leave glue residue on my headlights?
No. The adhesive is formulated to be repositionable, which means it bonds firmly in normal use but releases without transferring glue to the lens surface. This is one of the main practical advantages of this TPU film over lower-cost vinyl alternatives that can leave a sticky layer behind.
Is the light grey color consistent across the whole film, or does it shift in different lighting?
Light grey is a solid, uniform tint. It does not shift color or show a chameleon effect under different lighting angles. The appearance stays consistent whether the car is parked in shade, under artificial light, or in direct sun. The grey tone looks slightly lighter when the headlights are on at night because the light source behind the film brightens the tint.
What other colors are available if light grey is not the right fit?
The same TPU headlight tint film is available in Light Black, Black, Grey, Orange, Blue, Viper Green, Green, and Yellow. Light grey and grey are close neighbors; grey reads noticeably darker if you want a step up in smoke level. The colored options like orange, blue, and viper green are popular for builds where the headlights are meant to be a statement rather than a subtle accent.
