Metallic Oxide Dusk Purple Matte Car Wrap | Polymeric Vinyl
🎉 Free Shipping! Ready to ship
Metallic Oxide Dusk Purple is a deep, moody purple with a flat matte finish and a fine metallic flake that catches the light at certain angles. There is no shine and no gloss, just a soft oxidized depth that reads almost charcoal in shade and warms into purple under the sun. It is the kind of color that looks custom without shouting for attention.
The wrap lays over your factory paint as a full color change and a shield in one. Day to day grit, light scuffs and UV all hit the vinyl instead of the paint underneath, so the panels you cover stay protected while you run a finish you cannot get off a standard paint counter.

Key features
- Flat matte finish: a non-reflective topcoat gives the factory-flat, no-shine look that paint cannot match without a costly custom job.
- Hides minor flaws: the matte surface softens light, so it disguises small swirls and imperfections instead of spotlighting them like gloss does.
- Air-release adhesive: built-in air channels push bubbles out, so the film lays flat and you can reposition as you work.
- Conforms to curves: the polymeric PVC stretches over mirrors, bumpers and body lines for a smooth, seamless wrap.
- Protects the paint underneath: the wrap takes the daily wear while your factory paint stays sealed and original.
- Removable: peels off cleanly later with heat, so you can change the look or go back to stock.
- UV and weather resistant: the topcoat holds up to sun and rain across a -30 to +140 degree range.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a Metallic Oxide Dusk Purple matte wrap last?
With good care this matte purple holds its flat look for years. The film resists UV and handles temperatures from -30 to +140 C, so it takes daily weather without trouble. A car kept in a garage will keep that deep oxidized tone looking fresh longer than one parked in full sun all day. We do not quote a fixed number of years because real life depends on climate, washing habits and how often the car is driven.
Will this wrap damage my paint or actually protect it?
It protects it. The vinyl sits on top of your factory paint and takes the daily hits of grit, light scuffs and sun instead of the paint itself. When you wrap healthy factory paint and later remove the film correctly, the paint underneath comes back clean. Many owners use a wrap like Oxide Dusk Purple exactly to preserve the original finish on a car they plan to sell or return later.
How is a matte wrap different from a matte respray?
A matte respray is expensive, permanent and notoriously hard to repair since matte paint cannot be polished or blended like gloss. This wrap gives you the same flat purple look for far less, it is reversible, and if a panel gets damaged you redo that one section instead of repainting the whole car. It also shields the factory paint underneath rather than replacing it, so you keep your options open.
How do I wash and care for a matte wrap?
This is the most important point for matte. Never wax, polish or machine-buff Oxide Dusk Purple, because any of those will create shiny patches and ruin the flat finish. Hand wash only with a matte-safe soap, use two buckets and a soft mitt, and skip automatic brush washes. Rinse off road grime, and clean fuel splashes or bird mess quickly before they sit. Dry with a clean microfiber towel and that flat purple stays even across every panel.
Can I install this myself?
Yes, plenty of DIY installers do. The film uses a Henkel solvent-based acrylic adhesive with air-release channels, so the air pushes out as you squeegee instead of trapping under the surface. You can run a dry or wet install. Take your time on curves and recesses, use gentle heat to set the film, and work panel by panel. A first full wrap goes slower, but the air-release backing keeps bubbles from being a fight.
Does the wrap remove cleanly later?
Yes. When you are done with the Oxide Dusk Purple look, warm the film gently and peel it back at a low angle so it lifts in one piece off healthy factory paint. Any light adhesive left behind comes off with a proper adhesive remover. Because it strips away cleanly, this is a finish you can run for a season or two and then change without committing to it forever.
Will it stay flat or go shiny over time?
It stays flat as long as you treat it like matte. The finish only turns shiny if it gets waxed, polished, buffed or scrubbed with a rough pad, so the flat oxidized purple is in your hands. Stick to hand washing with a matte-safe soap and a soft mitt, keep abrasive products and automatic brushes away from it, and the non-reflective surface holds even across the whole car.
How much film do I need for my car?
The rolls are 1.52m (5ft) wide and come in 6m, 18m and 23m lengths. As a rough guide, a small hatch or a set of accent panels works from the 6m roll, a sedan usually needs around 18m for a full wrap, and a large SUV, truck or anyone wanting extra for mistakes should go with 23m. Buying a little extra gives you room for door jambs, recesses and any re-do on tricky curves.
